Southern, KY (SOUTHERN KENTUCKY, CLOSE TO VIRGINIA - All CRNA practice. 150 bed facility – general cases - @250 cases per month + 10 – 15 deliveries per month. Epidurals provided – do not have to stay in house. $160 - $170,000 (less for less experience) + up to $10,000 sign-on. 27 PTO days – includes vacation, CME and holiday. 12 sick days per year (can be carried forward) Call is 1:3. On call person is generally off by 9:00 or 10:00 the next day. )
Southwestern, PA (SOUTH WESTERN PENNSYLVANIA - 326 bed facility located in south central Pennsylvania. 12 MDAs and 19 CRNAs – varied ages from just out of school through retirement age. Hospital would like to hire two additional CRNAs. 10,000 cases per year Facility does everything except transplants. Very rare trauma. MDAs do hearts and OB epidurals. Practice is supervised with some docs allowing more autonomy than others. CRNAs rarely do epis. CRNAs will provide anesthesia for sections, but not on 24 hour basis. Hospital is increasing cases, has a couple of CRNAs getting ready to retire and recently had a unexpected retirement due to health reasons. CRNAs work on a 10 week rotation – 24 hr + 16 hr shift 1 week / 24 hr + 2 8’s one week / 5 8’s one week … and so on – all shift hours go toward 40 hour week. Call is included in these hours and included in 40 hour schedule. Also have position available working 3 days in EP Lab and 2 days in OR. Lots of military personnel. (1 Army reserve CRNA on duty now and back in October). LOCUMS work M – F – day shift only. $157,000 per year includes call. Some OT available … not mandatory and not guaranteed. Paid at 1.5 times hourly after 40 hours per week.
29 vacation dates + Sick (paid as short term disability). MM, retirement (explained by HR), 5 days CME + $1,500 (can also be used for dues, etc.). Sign on nego. Tuition reimbursement nego. PALS / ACLS / BLS / AANA cert required. 5 years work history verification for credentialing.

Close to Reading, PA (NORTHEAST OF READING, PENNSYLVANIA: 5 MDAs / 4.5 FTE CRNAs / wants to hire 2 more. CRNA must live within 20 minutes of hospital. Great lifestyle! No heads / no hearts. OB but CRNAs very seldom do OB. CRNAs take call – 1 weekend per month – beeper call – plus 5 weeknight calls … beeper – very seldom on 2nd call Weekday call is very occasional – 5 call days and one weekend per month per contract – usually no more than 5 calls including one weekend per month. $150,000 (includes all call, etc.) – w/ 20% gross to retirement … benies – MM / dental / vision / LT / ST disability. OT paid at 1.5 after 8 hours … typical day is 7 – 3:30 p.m. )
North Central, PA (NORTH CENTRAL PENNSYLVANIA - $135,000 new grad - $150,000 (experience) 2 MDAs rotate so that one doc is always there. 4 CRNAs. 25 beds – 80% outpatient. 3 ORS + endo. @ 250 cases per month. No hearts / neuro. 6:30 start – call person is last out. Draws from 4 counties @ 40,000 POPULATION. CRNAs do not place epidurals unless trained. Call is 1:4 but back-up only. Very rare call back. Hospital employee. VERY rural – closest WalMart is 40 minutes away. 112 miles to airport – very rural hwy to airport. PTO – 24 days (includes vacation / sick) + 6 holidays. CME is 5 days + $2,000. 3 years agree with sign on. )
